Overall purpose of position
To support partners and managers in providing a range of accountancy services to our clients.
Key areas of responsibility
Undertaking both practical and theoretical training with an aim to becoming a Chartered Accountant, this position involves a number of different aspects including:
- Preparing financial statements for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
- Auditing financial statements
- Tax compliance work (including preparation of tax computations; tax returns and computation of liabilities)
Assignments will be undertaken both in the office and at client's premises and will be a mixture of team work and projects undertaken individually. Trainees will have support and on the job training from managers and other senior staff.
During your training you will be expected to develop an understanding of the practical issues involved in delivering a high quality service to clients.
Study
You will receive paid study leave to attend training courses to enable you to obtain the Chartered Accountancy qualification.
Qualifications required
You will need to have an analytical and methodical approach to your work and be able to apply both common sense and technical skills to different assignments.
Graduate Entry: You must have or expect to receive a minimum 2.1 degree in a relevant discipline, supported by 3 A Levels (1A, 2B's or above) or equivalent.
Non Graduate Entry: You must have or expect to achieve 3 A Levels at grade A (or above) or equivalent.
