This month we meet our newly qualified Chartered Accountant Robyn Jennings, based in our Axminster office....

What is your role within Thomas Westcott?

This summer I became a qualified chartered accountant after studying and working in our Axminster office for the past 3 years. I currently perform a diverse range of work including preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and companies, quarterly bookkeeping and VAT return preparation for clients, preparing tax returns for individuals, partnerships and companies, as well as the odd audit for some of our clients based in Axminster.

How long have you been working here?

I started working at Thomas Westcott in September 2013 shortly after graduating from University with a Maths degree.

What do you like about working in the Axminster office?

Our Axminster office is small enough to be a close-knit team but large enough to experience a wide variety of work that makes for great experience. It is perfect because I get to do a job I love very close to the area I have grown up in and wish to stay.

What do you do outside of work?

I am a keen Ten-Pin bowler as I have been playing since my early teens. A few evenings a week, I bowl in a Ten-Pin bowling league and I have recently taking up the role of treasurer which keeps me busy!

If you were stranded on a desert island, what 3 items would you take with you?

Water, a hammock and a good book

Do you have any hidden talents?

I can play the piano but I also have a super strange long-term memory where I can remember the most insignificant of things from years ago!

What do you like most about working at TW?

I have some great colleagues in the Axminster office and I consider myself very lucky to wake up in the morning and actually want to go to work! Thomas Westcott have nurtured me through my 3 years training, given me a wide range of experiences, and I truly believe that there are great career and development opportunities that make for an exciting future at Thomas Westcott. I get to be involved in an assortment of client work that covers a vast variety of industries, which in turn broadens my knowledge, and means there is never a dull day.

Thanks Robyn, a woman of many talents it seems! congratulations on your recent qualification too. Next month we'll meet a member of our Honiton office!
