As part of our on-going expansion plans we’re delighted to announce that Andrew Brown, one of the region’s most experienced and well known financial planners, has joined Thomas Westcott as a Partner and as a Director of Thomas Westcott Chartered Financial Planners.

Born and educated in Weston-Super-Mare and later attending Wellington School, Andrew has over 30 years of experience of working in and with family businesses, as well as in banking, agriculture and the hotel trade.

Andrew and his team will be based at the firm’s Weston-super-Mare office and Andrew says “I relish the challenge of helping Thomas Westcott's clients, both old and new, across Somerset, in Bristol and in South Wales, to make the most of their available financial resources, to protect against risks to their lifestyle and well-being and to increase the likelihood that they'll achieve their ultimate financial and lifestyle goals.”

Andrew's clients include business owners, senior executives, legal, medical and financial professionals, as well as more vulnerable clients, such as recent widows and divorcees and also those approaching retirement.

For our clients, it means greater than ever access to top tier help and advice on all matters related to their financial planning, with our dedicated and experienced advisers each with their own areas of expertise. Whilst we already had an exceptionally strong team Andrew’s appointment gives us added expertise, especially in the area of pensions, in which he is one of the region’s foremost authorities.

Andrew provides a comprehensive range of advice services, including:

  • Advice to business owners, including business protection
  • Pre and at retirement advice
  • Pension consolidation advice and lifetime and annual allowance planning
  • Property related SSASs, SIPPs and advice on flexi-access drawdown options
  • Inheritance tax mitigation and succession planning
  • Workplace pensions and auto-enrolment
  • Wealth management.

We’re delighted to welcome Andrew into the Thomas Westcott team and wish him all the best in his new role.
