This month we get to know one of our young bright sparks, Lauren Thornhill, an Okehampton based Accounting Technician.
What is your role within the firm?
I assist with the preparation of accounts and bookkeeping services for filing VAT returns. I also have my own payroll clients, which involves Auto-Enrolment work and CIS.
How long have you been working at Thomas Westcott?
I have been working here since November 2015, after completing my AAT Apprenticeship.
What do you like about the Okehampton office?
The Okehampton office is quite small so the team work really well together. I like that we are the first point of contact for clients as it gives a more personal touch to the job.
What do you get up to outside of work?
I play the tenor saxophone and perform for weddings and events, which is great fun! I love to socialise with friends & family and I am also on a ladies’ darts team.
If you were stranded on a desert island, which 3 items would you take?
My boyfriend! He can light the fire and deal with all of the nasties that may be around! (and for company too!) My saxophone to keep us entertained and pass time, and Gin!!
What do you like most about working at Thomas Westcott?
I like the variety of work I deal with and the team of people I work with. There are also lots of networking opportunities to meet new people.
Thanks Lauren, I was also going to ask whether you can play 'Baker Street' but I can imagine that's a given for any saxaphone player!
