Well done to our very own Katrina Cheung who completed the London Marathon this year, fulfilling a personal ambition whilst raising thousands for charity.

Katrina, a trainee chartered accountant who joined us after graduating from Exeter University two and a half years ago, has always kept physically fit and healthy but decided 2017 was the year she did something really special!

In her own words: “I’ve always kept myself active but my friend and I decided we wanted to achieve something extraordinary and chose the London Marathon as our challenge.

“I’ve never been much of a runner to be honest, but I was determined to do it and knowing I had the support of so many great family members, friends and work colleagues was a boost.”

Katrina completed the gruelling 26-mile course through the streets of London in a creditable five hours and 13 minutes, raising a fantastic £3,300 for the mental health charity Mind. You can still donate to Mind via Katrina's fundraising page HERE.

She continued: “I have family members who work with people with special educational needs and I’ve also had friends who’ve had issues accessing mental health services so I was delighted to be able to raise money for Mind which carries out such vital work.”

As well as being sponsored to complete the Marathon Katrina, based in our Exeter office, also raised money herself by organising office cake sales and running a “guess how long I’ll take to complete the Marathon” competition.

After a bit of a breather, during which she’s had time to reflect on her achievement, Katrina isn’t resting on her Laurels – far from it – in fact she’s already signed up to compete again in the 2018 London Marathon!
