This month we talk to Annette, a Personal Tax Manager based in our Plymouth office.
What is your role within Thomas Westcott?
I recently joined the Plymouth office as a Tax Manager and, although I have only been here a short time, I have been involved in various HMRC VAT enquires. I also have experience dealing with Inheritance Tax Planning, Trusts and Estates, Personal Tax Planning and compliance related issues, Benefits in Kind and VAT queries.
How long have you been working here?
I joined on March 1st 2017
What do I like about working in the Plymouth Office?
There is a great opportunity here to work with a range of clients and help contribute towards widening our existing client base. I enjoy the variety of work and interacting with the great team of people here.
What do you like to do outside of work?
On weekends I volunteer at a Performing Arts school in Plymouth, which my two daughters attend and have done since my youngest was two and watch my son playing football. I love a wide variety of music and enjoy live bands. I am also involved in organising annual fundraising events for The Children’s Liver Disease Foundation.
If you were stranded on a desert island, what 3 items would you take with you?
Any John Grisham book, a family photograph, and a radio.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I like to think I can sing!
What do I enjoy most about working at Thomas Westcott?
I enjoy each day at work as I know it will be completely different to the last. I am able to continually grow and develop working within a team who are specialists in their own field and working within a group of offices who share their own knowledge and information.
