This month we speak to Louise Rycroft, Senior Paraplanner, based in our Exeter office.
What is your role within Thomas Westcott?
I recently joined the Exeter office as a Paraplanner within the Financial Planning Team. I enjoy the wide variety within private client work and have a particular interest in Trusts and longer term estate planning.
How long have you been working here?
I joined in April 2017
What do I like about working in the Exeter Office?
Although I have only been here a short time I have settled in quickly and everyone has made me feel very welcome. The office is a lovely old building, although a bit of rabbit warren and I am still finding hidden corridors! The central location makes it easily accessible to a wide range of clients and enables us to work closely with local professional contacts to provide the best service for our clients.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy cycling and running and over the past few summers, I have completed some long distance cycling challenges for charity, including a 300-mile trip from Paris to Yeovil. I love the camaraderie of those events where we all suffer together and recover in the bar at the end of the day!
If you were stranded on a desert island, what 3 items would you take with you?
A kindle loaded with as many books as possible, a hammock and a supply of confectionary.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I make a mean chocolate brownie – although I try not to too often!
What do I enjoy most about working at Thomas Westcott?
It’s cliché, but every day is different. No two clients are the same and each day brings new challenges.
