Final preparations are being made ahead of our Somerset biennial charity ball where many of the county’s leading businesses will gather to help us raise thousands for local good causes.
The black tie event, which this year have a nautical theme with guests invited to “join the Captain’s table”, takes place on Friday, October 13 at Batch Country House in Lympsham.
This will be the third charity ball we have organised in Somerset, which has seen more than £25,000 raised in total at previous events in 2015 and 2013.
All proceeds from the night, which will include charity auction, casino and live music, are being donated to local good causes including BRACE and Children’s Hospice South West.
BRACE, based in Southmead Hospital, Bristol, is an independent charity which raises money to fund research into dementia.
Children’s Hospice South West provides care and respite for the families of children with life-limiting conditions.
Three further charities which will benefit from money generated by the event are Jeremiah’s Journey, Ellie’s Haven and Exmoor Calvert Trust.
Guests will be treated to a three-course banquet, casino, auctions and raffle, together with live music provided by local band Six Machine.
This is already shaping up to be our biggest and best yet, and we hope as many people as possible will join us for what is sure to be a memorable evening.
