This month we meet Honiton based Personal Tax Manager, Gaynor Marsh.

What is your role within Thomas Westcott?

I am a Personal Tax Manager based in our Honiton office. Many of my clients are high net worth individuals who live locally, throughout the UK, and also abroad. I prepare their Tax Returns and advise on aspects of personal taxation that arise.

How long have you been working here?

I have just passed my 20th anniversary with Thomas Westcott.

What do you like about working in the Honiton office?

I have an interesting variety of clients and work with some very nice people. The staff varies in age and experience and everyone is friendly and willing to help others.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I am avid reader and love the theater, though I don’t get to go as often as I would like. I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my family as I am conscious of the fact my children will be going to university next year and will have their own independent lives, though I imagine they will still be keen to go on holiday with us!

If you were stranded on a desert island, what 3 items would you take with you?

The complete works of Dickens (that should give me plenty to read), a luxury tent and a photograph of my children.

Do you have any hidden talents?

I am quite good at tongue twisters.

What do you enjoy most about working at Thomas Westcott?

When I moved from London to Devon, I imagined that the work I would do here would be very different from what I had done previously. However, I have found that, as Thomas Westcott has grown, I have the opportunity to deal with clients who live around the world who have the same complex issues I used to deal with in London so I still enjoy a great variety of work whilst enjoying all that living in Devon entails.

Thanks Gaynor, happy Thomas Westcott Anniversary!
