Our newly appointed Agricultural Business Consultant, Angela Blackman takes part in this month's Q & A.

What is your role within Thomas Westcott?

I work within the Agricultural Consultancy Department based in the Holsworthy office.

My background is in the banking sector; most recently, I worked as a Senior Agricultural Manager with Natwest where I spent 36 years of my career. My new role is to provide agricultural consultancy to new and existing clients with a view to having my own portfolio.

Agricultural Consultancy consists of working with farmers to ensure their business is running as efficiently as possible by helping with business planning, providing technical advice, and helping with their financial needs and personnel management.

How long have you been working here?

I joined Thomas Westcott in February 2018, so still finding me feet!

What do you like about working in the Holsworthy Office?

The location is ideal for me as I also live in Holsworthy. I work with a lovely bunch of people, many of whom I have known for years. They have all made me feel very welcome and have been extremely helpful.

What do you enjoy most about working at Thomas Westcott?

I enjoy working with the people in my team and also enjoy the relationships with clients.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I enjoy family life, especially meeting with friends. I enjoy local history and volunteer at the local museum.

If you were stranded on a desert island what three items would you take with you?

A knife- assuming I need it to cut shrubbery and food, a solar powered torch for night vision and a guitar. (I don’t play the guitar but I can read music so could strum a tune.)

Do you have any hidden talents?

My family tell me that I am a very good cook :)
