This month we introduce one of our Paraplanners, Kathryn Jeffery based in our Exeter office.
What is your role at Thomas Westcott?
I initially joined as an Administrator within our Financial Planning team, but recently I have been promoted to Paraplanner, which means I will work closely with our advisers in conducting product and technical research and writing client reports regarding their financial planning needs. This could cover pensions, investments, personal and business protection and IHT planning whilst continuing to be a point of contact for client queries.
How long have you worked here?
I joined in September 2014
What do you like about working in the Exeter Office?
The central location and proximity to the shops is appealing, but ultimately, it is the staff that make it an enjoyable place to work, everyone is friendly, supportive and sociable.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy weekend walks whether on Dartmoor or some of Devon’s coastal paths and enjoy visiting places of literary and historical interest. I am an avid reader of all fiction and I enjoy the cinema and theatre for escapism.
If you were stranded on a desert island what 3 items would you take with you?
A Swiss army knife, a hammock, and a kindle loaded with as many books as possible.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I am told I have a good memory, but sadly, this seems to extend to remembering useless information of no use to anyone and unfortunately not my studies!
What do you enjoy most about working at Thomas Westcott?
I enjoy the variety in my work and that no two days are the same. I am lucky to have lovely people around me whom I enjoy working with and I have learnt so much since starting here which helps keep my job interesting.
