We are sponsoring our intrepid trainee accountant, Harriet Butland, who is limbering up to take on one of the UK’s most gruelling treks – the Three Peaks Challenge – to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity.
Harriet, who works in our Honiton office, tragically lost her father to an untreatable brain tumour when he was just 51.
She said: “It is in dad’s memory that I am taking on this challenge in the hope of raising as much money as possible for this charity and to reduce the diagnosis times and fund research for treatments so that we can prevent other families from going through what we had to.”
To complete the Three Peaks Challenge Harriet must complete the 23 miles over Snowdon in Wales, Scafell Pike in England and Ben Nevis in Scotland – a total ascent of 10,052 ft – in just 24 hours.
Harriet continued: “I’ve been training most weekends throughout the recent heatwave hiking up and down the South West coastal paths.
“I’ve always wanted to take on the Three Peaks Challenge and can’t wait to get started,” she added.
Harriet will be donning her walking boots Saturday, August 25, and you can find out more by visiting her donations page at www.mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/naomiandharriet where you can continue to support her fundraising efforts until November 26.
