Our new Audit and Accounts Manager, Peter Elliott, takes part in this month's Q&A Staff Profile.
What is your role at Thomas Westcott?
I am an Audit and Accounts Manager based in our Plymouth Office. In my role, I work with clients consisting of larger corporate entities as well as a significant amount of charities which require assurance engagements.
You’ve recently been appointed by the firm, what made you join Thomas Westcott at this point in your career?
After working in industry, I decided I preferred the greater personal contact I experienced working in practice. I was very impressed with the future plans for Thomas Westcott which made it an easy decision when I was offered a position.
What do you like about working in the Plymouth office?
Definitely the friendly atmosphere. Everyone in the office has been very welcoming and helped me settle in easily. Everyone gets on very well so it’s an enjoyable place to work.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I like to keep active so I am looking forward to exploring Dartmoor and going on plenty of coastal walks in Devon and Cornwall.
If you were stranded on a desert island, what three items would you take with you?
A pen and paper, an iPhone stocked with plenty of music and podcasts and a pen knife.
Do you have any hidden talents?
If so, they remain hidden to me. I used to be a passable opening bat.
