Congratulations to Cate Davey on being promoted to the position of Corporate Finance Executive. Based in Exeter, Cate joined the firm as a new graduate in 2017 and recently qualified as a chartered accountant. Her promotion is part of the growth of our Corporate Finance team.
As a graduate trainee, Cate built up her experience by working in a number of our specialist teams, including Audit and Assurance, Accounts, Tax and Corporate Finance.
Cate will now support Corporate Finance Director Alison Watts in providing advice to businesses and growing our client base across the South West.
The Corporate Finance team guides business owners through the complex process of buying or selling a business, from valuation through due diligence to completion. The team also supports businesses at key stages throughout their life cycle, including raising funds, merging and restructuring.
Corporate Finance Director Alison Watts said: “Despite the current challenges, the deals market shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, the pandemic seems to be generating an increase in business sales and purchases as a result of people making big decisions about the future.
“The process of buying or selling a business can take many months and involves us really getting to know and understand the business in detail. Having Cate on board will help us not only continue to offer our existing clients the highest quality service but also meet growing demand for our specialist advice across the region.
“Thomas Westcott is committed to nurturing talent through its trainee schemes. I am delighted that Cate has now qualified as a chartered accountant and will help us continue to grow and develop the Corporate Finance team.”
Cate said: “I am driven by getting to know clients and understanding their businesses and this is what particularly attracted me to corporate finance. This role gives me the opportunity to work with a broad range of businesses of many different sizes and across a multitude of sectors.
“I am really looking forward to getting to know clients and helping the firm continue to grow across the South West.”
